Hi!

Here’s a capture of my SSL hardware channel strip. I’ve managed to capture its EQ, high pass, made a mock up of a low pass filter by setting up eq curves, and finally had some harmonic distortion with pass through captures. I did it all with sine sweeps, so you won’t have problems with feedback or unwanted resonances, i also made sure to leave plenty of headroom, so you can throw high level signals at it and it should be ok, but still, pay attention to gain staging, it’s important no matter what!

***Use these impulses as insert only, and set wet signal to 100%, no dry signal, otherwise you'll have phase problems!***

I tried to give you guys the most flexibility i could within the limits of what impulses allow, so here’s a detail of the 50 impulses that you’ll get:

EQ:
Hi freqs:
Presence with 40hz / 80hz / 120hz hi pass option
Attitude with 40hz / 80hz / 120hz hi pass option
Clarity with 40hz / 80hz / 120hz hi pass option

Mid freqs:
500 hz + 3db, with 40hz / 80hz / 120hz hi pass option
1 Khz + 3db, with 40hz / 80hz / 120hz hi pass option
4 Khz + 3db, with 40hz / 80hz / 120hz hi pass option

Low freqs:
60 hz + 3db bell mode, with 40hz hi pass option
100 hz + 3db bell mode, with 40hz / 80hz hi pass option
250 hz + 3db bell mode, with 40hz / 80hz / 120hz hi pass option

High Pass:
40hz / 80 hz and 120 hz

Low Pass:
I did three custom curves that i would categorize as gentle, a little more, and a lot more.

Preamp harmonic distortion:
You get 4 settings, which go from simple pass thru to hardcore.

Clip:
This is an older capture that i did with impulses instead of sine sweeps, it really acts as a pushed compressor. I include them as an experimental/fun thing, but it’s very usable, try to put it on a send and run your drums thru it!
